Carrie Prejean:

“I felt as though Satan was trying to tempt me in asking me this question. And then God was in my head and in my heart saying, “Do not compromise this. You need to stand up for me and you need to share with all these people . . . you need to witness to them and you need to show that you’re not willing to compromise that for this title of Miss USA.

“And I knew right here that it wasn’t about winning. It was about being true to my convictions.”

Well sure you did;  it was about being true— to your convictions.  Except that pesky eighth commandment. Sigh.

Wikipedia:

Neither shall you bear false witness against your neighbor.”
This commandment forbids misrepresenting the truth in relations with others. This also forbids lying. (See Catechism 2464–2513.)

  1. Nonniedoodles,
    The short answer is “yes.” It is too much.
    But to be fair, the comments above were from a radio broadcast with that Dobson guy, so she was using her mouth part extemporaneously, and proper grammar is always optional in that case. :-}

  2. is it too much to ask that these bimbos, when reading from a prepared statement, should have to use proper grammar? thankfully, i was distracted by the projectile vomiting that followed listening to donald trump.
