Crystalline jaws prepare to bite down on a human appetizer

“The Sistine Chapel of crystals”, aka The Crystal Cave, was discovered in 2000 some 950 ft. below the surface of the earth in Naica, New Mexico. The crystals there are estimated to be 400,000 years old.

Elsewhere in the cave, translucent gypsum beams measure up to 36 feet long and weigh up to 60 tons.
