Beck To Jesus: Drop Dead

I’m begging you, your right to religion and freedom to exercise religion and read all of the passages of the Bible as you want to read them and as your church wants to preach them . . . are going to come under the ropes in the next year. If it lasts that long it will be the next year. I beg you, look for the words ‘social justice’ or ‘economic justice’ on your church Web site. If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. Now, am I advising people to leave their church? Yes. –Glenn Beck

Well, that little propaganda rant didn’t sit too well with the Catholic Church, if the reaction by the Rev. James Martin, S.J., is any indication. In his post to Huffpo titled Glenn Beck to Jesus: Drop Dead, he writes:

Glenn Beck said last week on his eponymous show that Christians should leave churches that preach “social justice.” Mr. Beck equated the desire for a just society with— wait for it— Nazism and Communism.
This means that you would have to leave the Catholic Church, which has long championed that aspect of the Gospel. The term “social justice” originated way back in the 1800s (and probably predates even that)… The Compendium of the Social Teaching of the Church, published by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, says this:

The Church’s social Magisterium constantly calls for the most classical forms of justice to be respected: commutative, distributive and legal justice. Ever greater importance has been given to social justice., which represents a real development in general justice, the justice that regulates social relationships according to the criterion of observance of the law. Social justice, a requirement related to the social question which today is worldwide in scope, concerns the social, political and economic aspects and, above all, the structural dimension of problems and their respective solutions….

Dickhead BeckBeckasnood tells God to f’n forget about “social justice.”

Glenn Beck’s desire to detach social justice from the Gospel is a move to detach care for the poor from the Gospel. But a church without the poor, and a church without a desire for a just social world for all, is not the church.

At least not the church of Jesus Christ. Who was, by the way, poor.

Crying Dickhead BeckGod tells Beckasnood to STFU.

Look, I carry no brief for The Society of Jesus, aka the Jesuits, described by the esteemed ex-Jesuit, Malachi Martin in his book The Jesuits as follows:

The Society of Jesus was established by the papacy in 1540 as a very special “fighting unit” at the total and exclusive disposal of the Roman Pope — whoever he might be. From their beginnings, the Jesuits were conceived in a military mode. Soldiers of Christ, they were given only two purposes: to propagate the religious doctrine and the moral law of the Roman Catholic Church as proposed and taught by the Roman Pope, and to defend the rights and prerogatives of that same Roman Pope.

But hey– if the Jesuits want to begin making reparations for centuries of their own ungodly acts by taking on the likes of The Beckasaur (a Mormon), all power to them.

I’ll be happy to hold their cassocks.

You must first recognize man as your brother, and if you honestly desire to do by him as you would have him do by you, the commonplace dictates of justice, honesty, and fairness will guide you in the just and impartial settlement of every recurring problem of economic rewards and social justice.

    1. Hey Dcap, is it just me or is your toast a little more burnt than it used to be?

No, beck is a Dick but he doesn’t have a penis. A penis is a good thing. Beck has a “Snood” — a useless, distorted piece of flesh that symbolizes a hideously deformed personality.

  1. understatement of the century–glenn blechhhh is a very stupid man. he’s also ignorant. i think he reads conspiracy theories on the internets and makes believe they’re his own thoughts, based on his knowledge of history (which, in fact, is nada). did you hear his recent rant about fdr being a lousy president, and joe mccarthy being awesome? (i tried to embed it, but it didn’t work. you can find it here. little glennie keeps pushing the envelope in order to keep getting attention, but i think he’s nearing the end of his 15 minutes. even rushbo has been picking on him lately, and it’s just a matter of time before there’s a war between the dittoheads and the beckerheads. i can’t wait! 🙂 the fundies won’t be too thrilled with glennie’s urging people to leave their churches. that might have been a bridge too far.
