there’s also those who just refuse to admit that they were wrong and they backed a loser. whether it’s stubbornness or arrogance, they simply can’t bring themselves to say that chimpy and deadeye dick are poison.

Hi nonnie and Sherry:

I used to wonder why there always seems to be a steady and not insignificant percentage of people who still support Bush and his ilk. And then I read John Dean’s Conscience of a Conservative where he dedicates a chapter to Canadian researcher Robert Altemeyer’s work on the “authoritarian personality.” Seems that there is always a dependable 25% or so of any population that are hopelessly enthralled to authoritarian leaders. Their brains just seem to be hardwired that way.

When the leader is an incurious, incompetent malignant narcissist with an IQ of 91; and who surrounds himself with sycophants whose primary task is to feed his ego and to filter out bad news; and who has a master manipulator like Darth Cheney guiding his every policy decision, the result is what we see before us— one mightily screwed up country and planet. In other words, the Bush Legacy.

Actually, I’m thinking that January 20th will be one of the biggest holiday events of the year! At least I’m determined to make it so at this household. There will be feasting and music and laughter aplenty. May a tiny but powerful blackhole suck the bastard into another less pleasant universe.
