The rational ones, the herder-planners, probably do. But the sheeple they lead, mostly poor white folk and evangelicals, have to be tricked into voting against their own best interests, as Thomas Frank describes in his book What’s the Matter With Kansas?

This now rotten fruit of 30 years of Rethuglican think tank research has to rank among the greatest propaganda triumphs since the Age of Goebbels.

Fortunately, you can’t fool people all the time, as the founder of the modern Republican party once so famously observed.

As far as their believing the garbage they spew I often wonder if even THEY believe it as much as they realize it has to be said to forward their underlying hostilities towards things like intellectual thought, free speech, oversight, competence etc.

i’m not a huge rosie o’donnell fan, but i wish she was still there to make little lizzie cry. 😥 little lizzie is a moron who repeats talking points she gets from the fax machine every morning. i don’t know why she’s given a platform. let her go back to style network where, instead of a platform, she can talk about platform shoes.

She pretty obviously doesn’t read or listen to anything at all except what her handlers give her everyday.

It’s probably too much to expect that one of its hosts be required to perform a complex task like a word search before denouncing a speech for being devoid of content that it clearly contains.

She’s never been accused of actually understanding any of the issues has she?

Thanks for covering this! I’ve thought it was too bad many times that Whoopie’s wings have been clipped on that show. Right. As if I watch it. I think I saw her first appearance where it was obvious that she had been gelded. (Now that’s a nice image, isn’t it?)
