No more or less than George W., with whom he shares a number of developmental characteristics: son of a famous political dad with his own amen corner and built-in political support; raised in a bubble; a bleeding narcissist; a sketchy business background: W.’s forays into oil drilling and baseball ownership via daddy’s rich friends; Paul setting up his own ophthalmology licensing board when he couldn’t abide the existing state approved one in which he “appointed himself president of the group…named the National Board of Ophthalmologists, and better yet, declared his wife (not a doctor) VP and his father-in-law secretary.”

If people deserve the leadership they get, then, to quote Torture Man, we’re in deep doo-doo.
